Choose your circles wisely

Stop for a moment at look at your circle of close knit friends or professional associates. Think about who you could trust with the most personal information and maybe even your life. Now think about the information/advice they have given your through the years. Was any of it useful? Did it make your situation any better?  Now imagine if you are the President and that close knit group of friends are your advisers. Do you think they would give you false information to further their own agendas?

I ask that last question because based on the latest decisions that the President has made, I wonder if some of the people in his camp are there with malicious intentions. Someone doesn’t have his or the country’s best interest at heart. I say this in lou of the speech he gave last night. The speech in which he revealed his plans for Afghanistan.  Maybe its me but an additional 30 thousand troops wont make a difference. And surely 30 Billion dollars of American money we don't have wont help those people over there. The unemployment rate is steadily climbing and so are the foreclosures. That money could be used best here at home. But I know we have been transformed into Team America World Police (circa Matt Stone and Trey Parker of South Park fame) and I must be wrong for thinking it is not our job to rebuild the world. It is our job to make sure the world is safe and to feed, clothe and shelter everyone except American citizens.

I'm just wondering though since it seems some news organizations are already talking about the 2012 Presidential election, is someone in the President’s camp setting him up for what I call the “okey doke”. Are they setting him up to lose if he were to run again. Think about it. Through the words from his advisers he has been making these brash decisions. He might want to look at who maybe the weak or shall I say the one who is setting him up to be the weak link in the chain.
